Subscription Websites have proven to be one of the most beneficial methods of building income online. One of the main reasons is because of their ability to pay you on a recurring basis. This is always a plus for any business. Passive income is absolutely necessary if you wish to make it to the right side of Robert Kiyosaki’s famous Cash Flow Quadrant(which is where we all want to be). So the first thing that you have to do for your site is write loads of valuable content about a subject that you are knowledgeable about. Fortuneatly for you, your subscription website can be about anything. I have literally seen tons of subscription websites for topics that I feel are ridiculous, but I guarantee you that they all have loyal members. So, if you wish to create some passive income, a subscription website is a great way to do that. If you are a novice, I would recommend that you join
Startlogic Web Hosting because of the ease of use. You can easily build your site using one of their templates which will allow you to spend most of your time on content.
You will also need a password protection script so that no one can enter your website without paying. There are several ways to password protect your site but they are not all created equal. So, I would not recommend that you use any of the password protection scripts that you may find from search engines because most of them are “java” based and can be easily hacked. This is another reason that I use Startlogic. I can pasword protect my pages very easily and don’t have to know how to write scripts. You can use whatever method you like, just be sure that the script requires users to re-enter the password every time they access the site. If not, you will have loads of people utilizing your site for free.
The next thing that you need to do is provide some sort of shopping cart. Paypal is the obvious choice for most people because of the security and popularity. I, personally use Clickbank because they handle the payments and I have access to thousands of affiliates who will advertise my site for a small percentage of the sale. This is very important because marketing your site is one of the hardest parts of the whole process. You can have the greatest product ever, but if no one knows its there, you will not make a dime. A Business Blog is an excellent way to let let your customers know more about your business. As many experts will tell you, blogging is very important in the world of e-marketing. Some people choose to pay people to do a daily blog for them but I am definitely not a fan of this method. The main reason being that whatever information you provide the public must be filled with valuable content. Not just some electronic advertisement that exist only to repeatedly plug your business name. For one, no one will read it (which defeats the purpose); and two, the people who do read it will take a useless blog as proof that you don’t know what you’re talking about.
The second reason that a business blog is important is because it can help your site get into search engine results. Confused? Let me explain…… Search Engines usually take into account how many pages have links that point to your site. Every time you create a new blog on sites like blogger.com it creates a new webpage. The more pages you get pointing to your site the better your chance of getting high search engine rankings. I am not saying that blogging alone will get you great rankings, but it definitely helps.
Business Blogging is also a great way to offset some of your advertising cost. You can post affiliate links & google adsense on your site and receive commissions whenever one of your readers clicks on an add. Some of the more well-known bloggers even charge major companies thousands of dollars to place an advertisement on their blog site. If your blog begins to attract high amounts of traffic, you will have several options as to how to monetize it. Attracting people is usually the problem that most novices run into.”Blogging to the Bank” is an excellent tutorial that teaches you the tricks of getting traffic to your business blog and earning money from them. Creating a business website is vitally important to any E-Marketing Campaign. Your small business website will serve as the foundation of all your other marketing techniques. I like to use
Startlogic Web Hosting because I believe that they offer the best value of all Web Hosting companies. I am not a HTML genius so I like to use their templates and it is incredibly easy to password protect pages and add features like Forums, Chat Rooms, etc… When I was creating my very first small business website, I was able to add some features that allowed my page not to look amateurish. I was also able to advertise my sites with Google and Yahoo search engines for free for a while, using the free gift certificates that come with their hosting packages. So, that is why I stick with them.
There are some other great ones out there but each of them have strengths and weaknesses so I would warn you to do your homework. Some web hosting companies overload servers and have longer waiting times and more 404 errors. Some hosting plans are of great value but may be more suited for an experienced web builder. So, make sure that you know exactly what you’re getting and use Startlogic if you are new to Web Building and do not plan to hire someone to build your business wbsite for you.
Your small business website does not have to be extravagant but it should have a nice clean design so that it gives an accurate representation of who you are as a company. The easiest way to get a website up and running is to use a template. This way you can spend most of your time on what is really important… “content”. If you don’t want to use a template, you can use software programs like Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 Win/Mac
or Microsoft FrontPage 2003. I have used Dreamweaver to build sites. It took me a couple of days to learn the basics and then I just used their help tutorials to guide me through any special additions I wanted to include. I have never used FrontPage but I hear that it is much easier to use. From my knowledge, FrontPage is geared more towards the novice whereas Dreamweaver is more powerful but is geared towards experienced web builders. There are some great interactive tutorials such as Dreamweaver Made Simple that can teach you to create professional looking websites a lot quicker than you would learn yourself. So be sure to take a look at some of these products.
However, getting your website up and running is the easy part. Getting people to visit your site is a whole ‘nother task altogether. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered on that too.
